“Antes de conquistar la montaña, debes aprender a superar tu miedo” Isabel Allende

Feeling the range of intense feelings that life offers can be hard to do without support. Many times, we may distract ourselves with drinking, drugs, relationships, shopping, food, or work to avoid feeling or experiencing the present. The stress of the day to day, or the painful memories of the past become too
much to hold alone. Intrusive thoughts or behaviors that we wish we could stop take over and hopelessness appears.

Connections with friends and family are difficult and hard to manage and we don’t know who to turn to for a safe place to get help.

This is the space where therapy comes in like a warm blanket on a cold day. Having a time that is yours to share the big emotions, learn how to stay present in the feelings and respectfully let go of the past is
where you will find your mental and emotional health. Together we will find relief for your symptoms, create goals for your future and celebrate your accomplishments.

I believe that there is hope from darkness. I have witnessed people find relief from their pain when they are ready to enter into therapy and do the work. I will create a space that is free from judgement and pressure where you can have space that is yours to find your mental and emotional health. Together we will face the intensity and find the resources within you that will create the life you want.

My Story

I found my passion in helping and connecting with others after the life changing experience of my own mental health journey and success. I understand the pain that different life experiences can bring and how a person can feel emotionally stuck and hopeless. I have also experienced the hard work and the rewarding benefits that choosing to work on myself produced. I enjoy learning and hearing a person’s story and understanding who they are. Through the understanding I find connection and through the connection have seen healing occur. I have worked in residential treatment centers with adolescents and adults specializing in substance use,
trauma and mental health disorders in direct care, operations and administrative roles for over twenty years. I received my Bachelors in Psychology in 2013 from University of Central Florida and my Master’s in Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in 2023. I am an associate licensed mental health counselor (LMHC-A), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor intern (CADC-I), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

I have a relational approach to therapy. I will meet you where you are at and together, we will create the plan that best works for you. I utilize psychoeducation, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness to create understanding and nervous system relief from what you are struggling with. I believe in the power of community and relationships and exploring through an attachment theory lens.

I am bi-lingual and speak Spanish. I have lived in several countries and have learned the impact of culture on our lives. I believe that diversity is important and can also produces conflict within a relationship. I am an advocate for navigating the conflict within self and others so that growth can occur. It is my responsibility to meet you where your beliefs are and create a plan that is culturally responsible to you.

When I am not working, my husband and I parent three adolescent boys and two huge dogs. My hobbies are cooking, making charcuterie boards, hiking in search of waterfalls, driving kids around and exploring new towns, cultures and experiences with family and friends.
