My name is Jen Brady. And I understand the pain of trying to connect with your loved one and feeling shut out or powerless to affect change can leave a person feeling defeated, sorrowful, anxious, and plum exhausted. This makes sense because we are created for connection, so much so that we anticipate others being responsive and engaged. Therefore, when there is dissonance, we feel it in our bones.
My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for you and your loved one to explore areas of struggle, heal moments of rupture, and develop fulfilling relationships.
My role as your therapist is to support you alongside your journey to healing by creating safety to explore feelings and learn valuable skills.
I particularly enjoy working with couples who have found themselves in cycles of conflict and disconnect. I believe we are created for connection and nurturing our most important relationships can bring about tremendous health to the individual and the couple/family.
I come from a person-centered and trauma-informed lens. I believe therapy should be interactive and experiential, incorporating evidence-based practices including but not limited to, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), MI (Motivational Interviewing), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I also utilize the neuroscience of stress through polyvagal and CRM (Community Resiliency Model).
I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (Externship and Core Skills) and seek certification as an EFT Therapist. I have over 12 years of experience in licensed therapeutic work with individuals, couples, and families; I am a certified trauma professional and dually licensed substance use counselor.
Reach out if you are ready to move toward greater resilience, enhanced felt sense of connection, or general growth within yourself and between you and your loved one(s).
