“You don’t have the same mentality as you did five years ago- even one year. People are always changing, and I believe that everyone deserves the space to change and for people to recognize their change.”
-Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio

My role as your therapist is to support you alongside your journey to healing by creating an unbiased environment to explore feelings and learn helpful skills. I come from a social justice and trauma-informed lens. I believe therapy should be interactive and experiential, incorporating DBT, mindfulness, and creative art elements.
I work primarily with female adolescents and young adults with a history of Chronic illness, trauma, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, and/or mood disorders.

My Story
Hola!
My name is Vanessa Guerero, and I am a clinical therapist with Winter to Spring Wellness. Before being in Asheville for almost a decade, I originally hail from Miami, Fl. I am a proud daughter of Cuban immigrants and a first-generation college student.
As a teen, I had my battles with physical and mental wellness, acculturation difficulties, and cultural stigma regarding mental health care. Through my own work, I have found healing and am now honored to support others who struggle with their own mental wellness and similar issues.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Florida State and my Masters’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in the state of North Carolina and a nationally certified counselor. I have approx 8-year of experience working in various positions in the mental health field, including but not limited to residential and community mental health agencies.
In my free time, I enjoy taking advantage of the beautiful nature in our area, going for hikes, and swimming under waterfalls. Laughing with friends and snuggling with my dog. I am also an artist and an avid lover of music and Latin dance.
