My Story
I know how hard it can be to take the first step toward therapy. Whether you're wrestling with intrusive thoughts, struggling to offer yourself compassion, feeling overwhelmed by the echoes of trauma, or wondering "Will this ever get better?", you’re not alone. I’ve spent years supporting clients in these spaces and personally know the courage it takes to reach out. That understanding shapes how I show up.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) with several years of experience in trauma-informed care. Before beginning clinical practice, I held leadership roles at a dual-diagnosis treatment center supporting people navigating substance use, disordered eating, and trauma. There I saw how healing happens through connection and how relationships can be a powerful force in recovery.
Much of my work has focused on walking alongside clients during moments of emotional overwhelm and on creating relational safety to support them in taking slow, intentional steps of courage toward their healing journey. These experiences reinforced my belief that shame loses power when we allow others to see the parts of ourselves we often hide. In short: healing begins with being seen.
My clinical approach is person-centered and grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a bit of humor. I integrate talk therapy with experiential and somatic practices, body-centered awareness, and Emotion Freedom Technique (tapping) to help clients access felt-sense healing and nervous-system regulation. I also draw on many modalities, including training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which are two evidence-based interventions for OCD. I additionally interweave core components of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), tailoring interventions to each person’s needs and pace.
My overall goal within the therapeutic space is to meet you where you are, as I am honored to bear witness to your healing journey at the pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a lifelong Asheville local who loves exploring the mountains with my dog Penny. I also enjoy scouring thrift stores for funky pieces of clothing, rewatching Marvel movies, reading fantasy novels, and listening to a good podcast on a long walk.
If you're looking for a therapist who brings clinical training, embodied approaches, and lived empathy to the work, I’d be honored to connect.
