My Story

I truly believe that authenticity is the key to wellness, and I strive to live my life unapologetically authentic. We are all individual universes; our planets, stars, and matter comprise all our intersectionalities and experiences. We are not whole until we can see every corner of that universe. As a half-gen immigrant and queer individual, I have always felt othered, having one foot in one world and the other in another. It wasn’t till I could see my entire universe that I could indeed be myself. I have always been someone who cared deeply. I became a therapist to walk with my clients along that journey of authenticity and show people that you don’t have to be alone on your journey.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from UNC-Asheville in 2013. Afterward, I worked on college campuses in Student Affairs, fostering young adults’ transitions, before returning to graduate school in 2016 at Appalachian State University for my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and certificate in Addictions. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

As a therapist, I can promise you that I will show up 100% authentically in hopes of creating authentic spaces for my clients to do the same. I’m a huge nerd and want to be your sidekick on your Hero’s Journey. Oftentimes it's hard to remember that we are the main characters in our story. I would be honored to be there for all your Nat 20s and every roll in between. Therapy isn’t about finding yourself; it’s more about welcoming yourself home.

I work from an anti-oppressive lens, examining systems of oppression and how to dismantle the internal limitations we implicitly place on ourselves based on these systems. I would consider myself Humanistic and Person-Centered in nature while being integrative. I often incorporate mindfulness and multicultural perspectives with traditional psychotherapy modalities. I believe that you are truly the expert in your own life and my job is to walk alongside you and provide guidance in finding your own expertise.

When I’m not working, I am reclaiming my time from capitalism and fostering creativity and joy through photography, baking, and play. My chosen connections are important to me, and I value my time with my people. The activity doesn’t matter as long as I am around folks that continue to foster connection and recenter me. As we work together, my hope is that you find the inner peace you’re looking for or learn to harness and accept the chaos.
