What Is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of trauma therapy that was developed by Francine Shapiro, Ph.D., in 1987. EMDR incorporates elements from various treatment modalities and is known to be a highly effective treatment for many types of emotional distress.EMDR can decrease symptoms of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, grief, and addiction. In addition, scientific research shows that EMDR is a highly effective treatment for healing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
