My Story
I see individuals as an entire entity, not just your diagnosis or need. A diagnosis should never serve as a label or as someone’s sole identity; it is a part of you. One of my favorite sayings is: “It is okay not to be okay as long as you tell someone you are not okay!” I will foster a relationship with you where you feel comfortable being authentic, raw, and honest.
I am originally from Durham, North Carolina, and while I have lived in several other places in the state, the mountains of Western North Carolina have called to me.
I obtained a Masters in Substance Abuse and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from East Carolina University in 2016. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), licensed professional counselor (LPC) in South Carolina for telehealth sessions, licensed clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) providing supervision to therapists working in addictions. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). While I am rooted in an attachment lens, my therapeutic style is also grounded in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, frequently utilizing Gestalt techniques. In addition, I am a Gorski-trained clinical professional in relapse prevention.
In my spare time, I attend Clemson football games, travel, watch live music, and go to the lake or beach. Spending time in nature, going on hikes, or being in the water grounds me, connects me with my faith, and soothes my soul. Community is a large part of who I am and fuels my recovery.
